Slow Food Glasgow is a local group of the global Slow Food movement, dedicated to promoting food that is good for who grows it, for the environment and who eats it. We work to promote food heritage, support seasonal and sustainable production, and advocate for policies that support small-scale producers. We host events, workshops, and collaborate with local producers and food outlets to foster a deeper understanding of food’s cultural, environmental, and social impact, advocating for a more sustainable and equitable food system in Glasgow.
By promoting local and artisanal food, Slow Food Glasgow directly supports local farmers, producers, and independent food businesses. This contributes to the local economy and helps create a more resilient food system less reliant on global supply chains. Food isn’t just a commodity for Slow Food Glasgow; it’s the lens through which we view and work to improve environmental sustainability, social justice, cultural preservation and overall well-being.
