tsiMORAY manages the Moray Local Action Group whose approach to community change and engagement is based on the community led local development (CLLD) model associated with LEADER programmes: a bottom-up approach to rural development which aims to improve the quality of life, sustainability and prosperity in rural communities through locally driven development initiatives and projects.
Food security is enormously important to resilience and combatting climate breakdown. Locally grown food has to travel hundreds of miles to be washed and packed for the supermarkets. Farmers and growers do not get properly recompensed in the current system. Moray Local Action Group supports the use of subsidies to grow and sell food more locally.
