The Landworkers’ Alliance
We are a grassroots union of farmers, foresters, crofters and land-based workers in the UK. We aim to improve the sovereignty, resilience and sustainability of our food and land-use systems and to increase peoples access to local, healthy and affordable food, fuel and fibre.
We are members of La Via Campesina – the global peasant’s movement – fighting for ‘food sovereignty’ which is the right of peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sustainable methods, and their right to define their food and agriculture systems. Diverse, peasant-driven agroecological food production, based on centuries of experience and accumulated evidence, are central to guaranteeing healthy food to everyone while remaining in harmony with nature.
